The relationship between airports and airlines is changing. Having traditionally operated as separate jurisdictions, they are beginning to realise a joined-up approach creates valuable synergies. In other words, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. The limitation of operating independently is that airports and airlines have very different inputs and influence on the passenger journey, often resulting in an impersonal service that creates hassle for the passenger, who receives limited and disjointed information – if at all, especially when things go wrong.
